Quinta de Santo António in the Santarém Valley
THE MAIN HOUSE
With a known date of construction in the 1700s, 18th century, by the Marquesa da Ribeira Grande, it was in the 1950s that its current owners carried out enormous restoration works.
This restoration was notable not only for its good taste, but more importantly for the quality of the materials used, which is still clearly visible today.
Marble bathrooms, Macacauba wood, commonly known as “Pau Rosa”, crystal interior door glass, wooden parquet floors still today with an enviable level of conservation, central heating system using a wood-burning boiler and iron radiators distributed throughout the various rooms, at the time the most modern heating system.
It is spread over two floors.
The ground floor is characterized by two large social areas (Living and Dining Room), reading room, a large kitchen with pantry and two suites.
As you climb the majestic stairs made of “rosewood” wood, you will find yourself in the music room on the 1st floor, which was the stage for great musical moments in Family and Friends. In this room, the power of the outside view almost suffocates, due to its beauty. The two large doors open onto a balcony overlooking the Quinta Forest.
On the 1st floor there are 5 bedrooms, one of which is a suite, and two more bathrooms, all in marble, in a mix of colors, black, white and pink, which transports us to the luxury of the 50s.
Large rooms, with torn wooden windows and shutters, some with balconies and all with a frontal view of Lezíria do Tejo.
A 180º view that accompanies the sunrise until sunset, and which, hitting the river's milk, gives the landscape moments of unmissable beauty and color.
// THE CHAPEL
Chapel, with the same construction date known as the time of the Marquesa da Ribeira Grande, still maintains authorization, by the Diocese of Santarém, to carry out religious worship.
// THE ATTACHMENTS
On a farm of this nature, there are few outbuildings.
Chicken coops, former “pig house”, 4 caretakers’ houses, two large barns, now a party room with kitchen and fireplace, and a uniquely shaped swimming pool.
// AGRICULTURAL AREA
The main house and the main outbuildings are located on a 6ha plot, where you can plant your own fruit trees and/or a vegetable garden to supply the house itself.
The Forest, located on the lot right in front of the main house, has an area of 20ha, with stone pines and some eucalyptus, and where it can, because it already exists, adapt the construction area to support agro-forestry or even tourist activities.
