Teresa Cuco was our estate agent and we could not have been happier with the work she did to help us find our dream Portuguese property. We were living in London and flew over to the Alentejo on numerous occasions for property hunting with Teresa. Even Teresa's son Tiago assisted us on our search. We sought the expertise of Teresa Cuco while searching for our new home in Portugal, wich was unfortunately during the Covid lockdown period. Even with these added complicstions, Teresa inspired trust and made us comfortable from day one, never rushing or pressuring and always truly listening to our questions or concerns. As we couldn't visit the country during crucial stages, Teresa went above and beyond to send us many photographs and walk-throught vídeos - and even arranged for measurements to be taken and builders to visit to provide quotes for remodelling work. Teresa also provided some very helpful advice on tax insurance- and covered many things we hadn't thought of. Teresa's demeanour is delightful alwys bringing an energetic and positive attitude - witc certainly helped with our stress! Her knpwledge of every little nuance of the process has proven invaluable, especilly in a highly bureaucratic country like Portugal. Teresa will always be our go-to person on all things property. I recently purchased a house in the historic centre of Evora with Teresa’s assistance and guidance. My situation was complicated – I was living and working in Hong Kong, under strict lockdown and quarantine restrictions. I needed the property to qualify for a Golden Visa, but I was also interested in a property that could be split into two units, renovated and used to generate rental income. When combined with local city rules within the old town center, this was going to be no small task. Teresa immediately rose to the challenge. She first of all found the perfect property for me. Then she introduced me to trustworthy builders, architects and lawyers, and built up a team that would work together to guide me through the process. Her communications were always clear and detailed, and she went above and beyond to act as not only as a real estate agent, but as a translator, coordinator, advisor and friend. My parents had the pleasure of meeting Teresa in-person first, and before long it was clear that she had become more a ‘friend of the family’ than an agent. It was also clear that her priority, above all else, was the absolute satisfaction of both the buyer and the seller. Teresa kept all parties in the transaction engaged, and worked to establish a strong feeling of trust between us all. When I finally had the chance to meet her in-person and to see the property for myself, it almost felt like I was coming home to ‘family’. Teresa was just as sincere and genuine in person as she was over email and telephone communications. The transaction, thus far, has gone off without a hitch. Overall, I can’t recommend Teresa enough. She has guided me through a complicated process in an unfamiliar country and in an unfamiliar language, with always a smile on her face. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with her – and I can’t wait for the chance to invite her and her family over to my new house in Evora for dinner.
