Get to know your street:ALBERTO D’OLIVEIRA was born in Porto on November 16, 1873, and died in São Mamede de Infesta on April 23, 1940.
He attended the University of Coimbra, where he founded the magazine Boémia Nova with António Nobre.
He became associated with the Neo-Garrettist movement, inspired by the figure of Almeida Garrett.
He contributed to the Revista de Portugal, under the influence of Almeida Garrett.
His work was also published in magazines such as Jornal de Domingo, Branco e Negro, and Atlântida.
During the final years of his life, he devoted himself to writing memoirs about the period when he served as consul in Brazil, as well as about literary figures with whom he had close connections, including Eça de Queiroz and António Nobre.
His most important works include Poesias de Alberto d’Oliveira, Palavras Loucas, Pombos Correios, Sermões Não Encomendados, Memórias da Vida Diplomática, Coimbra Amada, Novos Sonetos, Vida, and others.
