CONVENT OF SÃO SATURNINO

During the restoration work on the Convent, which began in 1998, numerous ancient objects were found which, together with documentary records, indicate that there may have been a place of worship for St Saturninus, who was also venerated in a hermitage located high up in the Sintra mountains, about an hour's walk from these buildings, in the place known today as Peninha.
