Pinhal Novo is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Palmela, district of Setúbal, with 55.84 km² of area and 25 003 inhabitants (2011). Its population density is 447.8 inhab./km2.
Raised, within the scope of the administrative organization of the Portuguese State, to the Parish Statute on February 10, 1928, it was elevated to the hierarchical category of town in 1988 by Law No. 45/88, of April 19, 1988.
It has an urban and service dimension, a manufacturing industry related to electrical cables and electrodes (Electro-Arc) and automotive mechanics. It is a railway center.
