Current Structure and Characterization:
As part of the 2013 Administrative Reorganization of the Territory of the Parishes, the Union of Parishes of Alenquer was formed, encompassing the two former historic parishes of Santo Estevão and Triana.
Santo Estevão is the birthplace of Damião de Góis, a Portuguese historian and humanist, a prominent figure of the Renaissance in Portugal.
