Soure is a Portuguese village in the district of Coimbra, subdivided into 10 parishes. The municipality is limited to the north by the municipality of Montemor-o-Velho, to the northeast by Condeixa-a-Nova, to the east by Penela, to the southeast by Ansião, to the south by Pombal and to the west by Figueira da Foz. The parish of Soure, the largest in the municipality, occupies an area of ​​92.3 km2 and is home to a third of the total population, 8,459 inhabitants. The foundation of the municipality predates nationality: The geo-strategic and economic importance of Soure made the Municipality an important commendation of the Order of Christ. Some important remains of this golden age have come down to us, such as the Castle, the ruins of the Church of Our Lady of Finisterre, the Church of São Tiago and the Chapel of São Mateus.
