Harmoniously situated in Largo do Dr. José de Figueiredo, it is surrounded by a small wall, which defines 3 of its sides, the fourth being defined by the palace, simultaneously serving as support for the side streets and following the slope of the land. Classified as a Property of Public Interest, it reflects a civil architecture of facilities, Baroque. Aligned with the palace's main portal, the fountain, in white and pink marble, is composed of a circular water receiving basin, set on a circular staircase, interspersed with 2 tanks, intended for drinking animals, and topped by a water tank, in the shape of a lobed vase with 4 curved, protruding and recessed faces, from which the water gushes from 4 gargoyles. Crowning this ensemble is an allegorical sculptural group, by António Machado, representing Venus flanked by Cupid and a dolphin, alluding to Love and Water. This fountain, in 1823, was supplied by the Águas Livres Aqueduct through the Necessidades Gallery.
