Manor House in Sabugal with 751 m²

Solar de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, also known as Solar dos Correia da Costa, is a noble manor house from the 17th and 18th centuries that belonged to the family of the alcaides-mores (high magistrates) of Sortelha and, in the 20th century, to the Viscounts of São Sebastião.

With two floors, the ground floor consists of storage rooms, a wine cellar, and a stable; the upper floor is used as the living area. Access is made via an exterior staircase leading to a large balcony with a porch supported by columns. From the main structure of the house stands out the Baroque chapel dated 1782.

On the main façade there are several rooms, one of which features a coffered wooden ceiling with carved woodwork, decorated with the coat of arms of the Correia da Costa family. The residential area currently includes an entrance hall, four living rooms (two with fireplaces), seven bedrooms, four bathrooms, a contemporary kitchen, and a large traditional kitchen. Much of the furniture will remain in the house.

The chapel retains its original gilded and polychrome carved altarpiece, with the walls and ceiling covered by 23 oil paintings on canvas from the 18th century, notable for their historical and artistic value.

The entire property is enclosed by walls and includes a large garden with excellent sun exposure and space for a dream swimming pool, as well as a courtyard where there is a second house (to be restored) containing one bedroom, a living room, a kitchenette, and a bathroom (allowing it to be used independently as a guest house).

This residence is ideal as a primary or secondary home, with versatile use, and already holds a license for rural tourism accommodation.

Sortelha is a historic village classified as a National Monument and is the headquarters of the Historic Villages of Portugal, one of the 12 villages located along the border region. It is close to many scenic and monumental sites, the UNESCO Serra da Estrela Geopark, and several cities: Covilhã (an important university center), Guarda, Castelo Branco, and in Spain Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca, and Cáceres.
